Yesterday was the last day of “Sober October,” the month-long sobriety challenge that has exploded in popularity in recent years.

Let me start by saying CONGRATULATIONS to anyone who quit drinking last month and stuck with it. For most of us, that first month sober is brutal, and getting through it successfully is no small feat. I hope that you’ll keep it going because the best parts of sobriety are still ahead.

That brings me to the focus of this newsletter, which is the question of whether one month of sobriety is enough to decide whether you want to stick with it.
