Last week, we had an election in the United States, and I’d guess that quite a few of the people reading this are less than thrilled with the results.

Before I get to that, though, let me talk about the title for today’s newsletter, which I’ve taken from the Serenity Prayer. I suspect many of you recognize this prayer and perhaps even know by heart:

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
the courage to change the things I can,
and the wisdom to know the difference.
